cirus is a free, experimental ai chat service operated by an independent individual, not a company. responses are generated by large language models running on consumer-grade hardware. the service is provided "as is" and "as available" with no guarantees of uptime, accuracy, or availability.
all responses are produced by automated language models. they may contain errors, fabrications ("hallucinations"), outdated information, biased framing, or content that is offensive or unsuitable. do not rely on cirus output for any decision with real-world consequences. in particular:
you agree not to use cirus to:
cirus uses automated filters, ai moderation, rate limits, and manual review. sessions (browser cookies tied to ip addresses) that violate these terms may be rate-limited, restricted, or permanently locked without notice or refund (the service is free; there is nothing to refund). serious violations may be reported to law enforcement.
when a session is locked: you lose the ability to send new messages, edit messages, regenerate responses, or rename/delete conversations. your past conversation history remains visible to you in read-only mode. clearing your cookies or starting a new session creates a fresh session, but the locked session and its full content are retained on cirus servers indefinitely as evidence and for compliance purposes. deletion requests for locked-session data will not be honored unless required by applicable law.
you are solely responsible for what you type into cirus. do not submit personal data of others, confidential information, secrets, credentials, or copyrighted material you do not have rights to. by submitting input, you grant the operator a non-exclusive licence to process and store it as necessary to operate the service and prevent abuse.
conversations from locked sessions are archived to a separate storage location on cirus servers and may be retained for an indefinite period for legal, security, and compliance purposes, including potential disclosure to law enforcement under valid legal process. see the privacy page for details.
to the extent permitted by law, you are free to use the output cirus generates for you. you acknowledge that the same or similar output may be generated for other users, that the operator makes no guarantees about the originality or copyright status of generated content, and that ai output may not be copyrightable in your jurisdiction.
the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability. the service may be discontinued, modified, or restricted at any time without notice.
to the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of cirus shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to reliance on ai-generated output. total aggregate liability shall not exceed five (5) usd.
you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or your violation of these terms.
these terms may be updated at any time. continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
the operator may suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason. you may stop using the service at any time.
these terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
